South Sudan National League champions Salaam FC Bor will represent South Sudan 2023/2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
Salaam FC Bor will be making their maiden appearance at the 2023/23 CAF Champions League after being crowned champions on Tuesday last week.

Salaam FC staged a remarkable comeback, scoring 2 goals in the second half after a disappointing first half against El-Merreikh FC. The game saw some dramatic moments with two red cards being awarded to El-Merreikh FC, including one to their coach.
Victor Lual, the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) General Secretary confirmed that the newly crowned champions will represent the East African country in the continental football competition.
“We shall have Salaam FC Bor represent South Sudan for the first time in the 2023/2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. We shall also El Merriekh FC Juba, the Cup winners represent the country in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.”

Salaam FC Bor triumphed after overcoming more than 10 teams from the three regions of Upper Nile region, Equatorial region and Bahr El Ghazel.
The champions also walked away with US$20,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, El-Merriekh FC of Bentiu finished second.
The 2023–24 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will be the 60th edition of Africa’s premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 28th edition under the current CAF Champions League title.
The 2023–24 CAF Champions League winners will automatically qualify for the 2024–25 CAF Champions League and earn the right to play against the 2023–24 CAF Confederation Cup winners and earn the right to play against the winners of the 2023–24 CAF Confederation Cup in the 2024 CAF Super Cup.
While there is no official news yet, some media pointed out that the format of the competition will change starting the 2023–24 season due to CAF’s newest competition, the Africa Super League.
