Saturday – Senegal, Nigeria, Tunisia, and The Gambia secured their slots in the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON after thrilling quarter-final encounters.

The four nations also booked their places in the 23rd edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup hosted by Indonesia between 20 May – 11 June 2023.
The Gambia once again showed that they are the team to watch as the Young Scorpions were 5-0 winners over South Sudan with Adama Bojang scoring a hat-trick on Friday.

In the other game on Friday, Tunisia defeated Congo 5-4 on penalties, after extra-time ended 3-3. The North Africans were lucky enough to secure a draw inside 90 minutes.
Senegal were the first nation to qualify for the semi-final after defeating Benin 1-0 while Nigeria also won by a similar score line against Uganda to progress to the last four.
