2 min readAfter the first of two legs took place in Rades in tunis with a goalless draw, making both Al-Ahly and Espérance to become the first teams in CAF Champions League history to keep 9 consecutive clean sheets, the Egyptian giants will look to leverage on their home advantage against the formidable Espérance in what is expected to be a tough return leg in Cairo on Saturday.
With the score tied at 0-0 and an outstanding defensive record for both teams, the second leg promises to be an action-packed event, with both teams vying to claim Africa’s most prestigious club football trophy.
The tickets for the second leg final are said to have sold out in just two hours on the market, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated showdown between two of Africa’s top clubs. CAF confirmed this on their official website.
Al Ahly is looking to extend its dominance of club football on the continent with a fourth Champions League success in the last five seasons, and a record 12 continental championships overall.
It is Esperance’s first final appearance since winning the Champions League in 2019 when they beat Wydad AC to secure a second consecutive title. They are bidding for a fifth continental title.

DRC’s Jean Jacques Ngambo Ndala will be the center referee for this game, Assisted by Seydou Tiama (Burkina Faso) and Souru Phatsoane (Lesotho) and Al Hajji Allaou Mahamat as Fourth official. Uganda’s Dixon Adol Okello will be part of the security officers at the finals.
