Bul FC 2-0 URA FC: Wandyaka brace sinks URA

Two first-half goals, courtesy of Richard Wandyaka, helped Bul FC beat URA FC at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe.

Bul FC started the game on a higher note as the home side continued to force the game in the final third with great pace. A good save from Emmanuel Kalyowa (BUL) kept out a likely opener [header] from Cromwel Rwothomio.

However, Bul’s relentless attacks finally paid off as Wandyaka scored within 33′ minutes to give the Jinja Bulls an early lead, capitalizing on a long ball from Hillary Onek, leaving custodian Nafian Alionzi no chance.

Steven Mukwala, Joackiam Ojera, and Shafik Kagimu had no show in the opening half of the encounter, as URA struggled to break into the final third.

URA Tactician made changes to his team in the second period to try to level the scores. Hassan Kalega replaced Brian Nkuubi and Viane Ssekajugo came in for Joackiam Ojera

This could only result to former tax collector Wandyaka scoring his second of the day nine minutes into the second half after a back-flip from Karim Ndugwa.

The tax collectors upped the pressure at the Eastern Giants with more pace on the ball but to no vail.

The result shakes the top four standings as Arua Hill SC wait to join the mix. URA’s title hopes have also been dealt a blow as they failed to close the gap on table leaders Vipers SC.

Meanwhile Bul moved to 41 points, a point behind third placed KCCA FC and 2 points behind second placed URA FC. Meanwhile they trail the table leaders Vipers SC by 8 points.
