CAF Champions League holders Wydad win Second Group Game
1 min readThe CAF Champions League title holders Wydad AC of Morocco won by a goal to nil to go on top of the group A.
An own goal by AS Vita defender Guy Magema separated the two sides in the tenth minute of the second half.
Much of the ball was in the half of the away side as the reigning champions played possessive football with thousand of home fans cheering.
AS Vita’s best chance of the game came in the second half when forward Kalenda took an early shot from the corner kick but was unable to trouble the Wydad goalkeeper.
Wydad are now on top of the table with two wins from three games after failing to win away against Algerian side JS Kabylie.
Wydad’s fourth game of the campaign will see them travel to Luanda on the 11th of February to face Petro Atletico.
A win for the away side will see them expand on their qualification hopes and reach the knockout stages.
