CHAN – Senegal 0-1 Uganda: Alionzi Stars as the Cranes collect maximum points

Thursday – Uganda Cranes have shocked Senegal with a 1-0 win in their Group B second game at the CHAN finals after a goal from skipper Milton Karisa.

Vipers forward Karisa scored the only goal on the night as the East African nation walked away with all maximum points.

Uganda set out to get themselves back on track off the back of a share of the spoils in their opening CHAN encounter last time out. Uganda played out a goalless stalemate against the Leopards of Congo DR in the sides’ group-stage meeting at Stade 19 Mai 1956 last Saturday.

The Lions of Teranga, who had a penalty saved by Uganda Cranes custodian Alionzi Nafian,are now level on points (3) with Uganda.

The Cranes will play Ivory Coast in their next group game match. Senegal will take on DR Congo next.
