Disciplinary Actions Rock Ugandan Football; Bans and Fines Issued
URA FC’s Enock Walusimbi has received a two-match ban from the FUFA Disciplinary Panel for his violent conduct during a game against Wakiso Giants FC on October 21, 2023.
This suspension was imposed due to a breach of the FUFA Competitions rules and regulations, as well as Article 13(1) and 13(3) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code.
In a separate incident, Kataka FC and their Head coach, Godfrey Awachango Toldo, were sanctioned by the FDP for violating FUFA Competitions rules and regulations during a match against Kyetume FC on October 22, 2023.
Toldo had called his players off the pitch when a penalty was awarded in the 90th minute, causing the game to be abandoned. Kataka FC forfeited the match and was fined 2,000,000 Uganda Shillings, while Toldo was suspended from all football activities until November 19, 2023. He was also fined 1,000,000 Uganda Shillings, which must be paid before he can participate in any football activities.
Additionally, Wakiso Giants FC player Bashir Asiku received a five-match ban for his actions after a game against URA FC on October 21, 2023.
Asiku had attacked the match officials, causing injury and damage to property. He was also fined 500,000 Uganda Shillings, which he must pay before resuming any football activities.
