Drabe Steps Down as Onduparaka FC Struggles for Survival

Arua, Uganda – After nearly four years of dedicated service, Godfrey Drabe has officially announced his departure as Head of Communication and Marketing at Onduparaka FC, effective March 31, 2025.

Drabe, who first joined the club on August 5, 2021, as Interim Public Relations Officer, quickly rose through the ranks, taking over as Head of Communications and PR after Munduru Mercy transitioned to her new role as the club’s Executive Director. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the club’s brand identity, fostering fan engagement, and spearheading key marketing campaigns.

Reflecting on his journey, Drabe expressed both sadness and gratitude, emphasizing his unwavering support for the club even as he steps away from his official duties.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to have served this incredible club and its loyal fans. From the highs of our Uganda Premier League matches to community outreach programs, it’s been an honor to be a part of this team.

My love and support for the Green Caterpillars remain strong, and I will continue cheering for them as a fan.”

His departure comes at a challenging time for Onduparaka FC, who currently find themselves just one point above the relegation zone in the FUFA Big League and still searching for their first win in the second round.

With Drabe’s exit, the club faces yet another transition period, but fans will hope his legacy of resilience and commitment continues to inspire both the team and the passionate Onduparaka faithful.
