KCCA 1-2 Vipers: The Venoms swallow the Kasasiro boys
Vipers SC edged KCCA at Lugogo in the much anticipated match on Sunday evening.
The visitors put up a descent performance to outplay the 13 times champion by 2-1.
Vipers SC’s first chance came through Richard Basangwa who won a free kick at the edge of the box, Paul Willa hit it at the wall.
The first half was fair interns of play. Both sides tried to dominate possession.
Bobosi Byaruhanga missed a seater at the death of half time, with the game ending goalless at half time.
Yunus Ssentamu broke the deadlock in the 50′ minute with a rocket shot giving the venoms the lead.
Milton Kalisa added in the second two minutes later to extend the Kitende based side’s lead.
Denis Iguma scored in the 65′ minute to pull one back for the kasasiro boys.
KCCA had a relatively dull day in office as there was not much attack from the Lugogo based side, as they are known for free-flawless football, which was not the case.
The Venoms have now won home and away in the league for the first time since they came into the league.
The win ensures that Vipers closes on URA at the top of the table, meanwhile KCCA who sit fourth trail the second placed Vipers by 12 points.
All title hopes have been erased for the kasasiro’s and will have to look to the next season.
