Masaba to Lead as New Names Make Cricket Cranes Squad
Tuesday – Uganda Cricket Association announced their squad of 14 on Tuesday, with captain, Brian Mark Masaba leading the team to the first edition of the East African T20 Series that will take place from December 13th to 24th in Kigali, Rwanda.
The experienced Roger Mukasa returns to the team for the first time after a while. However, Riazat Ali Shah (Finger), Fred Achellam (Muscle), and Deus Muhumuza (Knee) will miss out on the tournament.
Debutants Ronald Lutaaya and Cyrus Kakuru who both were part of the U-19 World Cup Squad early this year have been included in the team by head coach Laurence Mahatlane.
With more changes, the growth of depth is foremost in our minds. A few injuries have allowed opportunities for some young players who have put up their hands in the last couple of months and it will be exciting to see them compete against some seasoned professionals,” said Head Coach Laurence Mahatlane.
The Team:
1. Brian Masaba, 2. Kenneth Waiswa, 3. Simon Ssesazi, 4. Roger Mukasa, 5. Juma Miyagi, 6. Cosmas Kyewuta, 7. Joseph Baguma, 8. Pascal Murungi, 9. Ronald Lutaaya, 10. Cyrus Kakuru, 11, Henry Ssenyondo, 12. Frank Nsubuga, 13, Bilal Hassun, 14, Alpesh Ramjani.
