Micho returns as Cranes coach

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on Tuesday evening announced the re-appointment of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic as the head coach of the Uganda Cranes.

FUFA confirmed that the Serbian has signed a three years renewable contract.

“Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) hereby announces that Mr. Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has been appointed Head coach of the Uganda Cranes on a three-year renewable contract effective 1st August 2021. The Head coach has a contractual mandate to name his backroom staff. Mr. Milutin Sredojevic will address the media on Tuesday 3rd August 2021,” the FUFA statement read.

“It is not easy to be coach of Uganda. My agent and I had seven days of talks with FUFA but all yielded nothing, I have not been allowed to take Uganda to the World Cup. They succeeded to remove me,” Micho was quoted as saying.

Micho started his African adventure in Uganda with SC Villa, went via St. George in Ethiopia, Orlando Pirates in South Africa, Al-Hilal in Sudan and Rwanda before coming to Uganda.  He has complained for years about failure by FUFA to pay his salary under the agreed contract.
