MYDA FC relegated as battle for promotion heats up among Kataka, Maroons and Kyetume FC.
MYDA FC confirmed it’s relegation yesterday after a heavy 5-0 defeat to Luweero United at Kosovo ground in Luweero.
Luweero United’s Arafat Ssentongo’s hat trick and two other goals from Mukunga Reagan and Allan Tebusweke were enough to send Malaba side MYDA FC to the FUFA Regional League next season.
MYDA FC who have lost ten games, drawn five and only won twice in their 17 league games sit in the 15th place 11 points, two above relegated Nyamityobora FC side.
They still have play Kitara Fc who are seeking promotion in the Startimes Uganda Premier League at home and then travel to Maroons Fc and Calvary Fc in their remaining three games.
Elsewhere, 2nd placed Maroons FC thrashed Kitara FC 4-0 at Luzira prison grounds.
Maximum points for the Luzira based side put them level on points with table leaders Kataka FC who still have a game in hand.
Maroons FC is 2nd with at 33 points with two games to play at relegated MYDA FC and Nyamityobora FC.
In another game,table leaders Kataka FC settled for a 3-2 win over Calvary FC at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Lugogo based side Proline held Ndejje University FC to goalless draw at Arena of Visions in Ndejje.
The other game between Black Powers FC and Nyamityobora FC was abandoned after the visitors failing to get to the venue for unknown reasons.
Board is to take a decision where it will award Black Powers FC three points and three goals according to the law if Nyamityobora FC can’t justify their reasons for not traveling.
Top three teams are promoted to the Startimes Uganda Premier League and the bottom three teams are relegated to the FUFA regional league.
