SC Villa Captain Departs Club After Historic League Triumph – And Here’s Why.

Kenneth Ssemakula, who made history as the youngest captain to lead a team to victory in the Uganda Premier League, has announced his departure from SC Villa with immediate effect.

This decision comes just a few days  after he successfully guided the club to its first league title since 2004, marking SC Villa’s record 17th championship.

Ssemakula’s leadership and performance have been pivotal in ending the club’s 20-year title drought and a heartbeat of the club, making his sudden exit a significant development for both the club and its supporters.

Ssemakula’s departure comes after the expiration of his three-year contract, which he signed in August 2021 following his transfer from BUL FC.

According to seasoned journalist Clive Kyazze, the player’s decision was after a fall out on the contract extension offer given by the club which he considered ungrateful.

“Villa offered Ssemakula a three-year deal with Shs10m sign-on fees and a monthly salary of Shs1m.
An offer he considered disrespectful because of his service to the club for the last three years”, Clive Reports.

Other reports indicate that the 21 year old defender cum midfielder has received offers out of the country and looks at considering them.

He has recently played for Busoga and Bul Fc.
