English SC Villa in Talks to Re-sign Former Midfield Star

SC Villa’s title-winning midfielder, Umar Lutalo, could be on the verge of returning to the 17-time champions, a club he left last season following the expiry of his contract. Sources reveal that Villa’s management has been in contact with Lutalo’s representatives after his unsuccessful trial abroad.
The club, currently facing a shortage in the attacking midfield position (No. 10), has reportedly ramped up efforts to bring back the talented player. Lutalo was spotted in the stands during Villa’s league opener against Mbarara City FC on Monday, September 17, 2024, which they won.
Lutalo, who spent four years with SC Villa, departed in May 2024 after negotiations over his sign-on fee fell through. However, reports suggest he has recently held several meetings with club chairman Hajji Omar Mandela. A deal to see him rejoin the Jogoos could be finalized before the transfer window closes.
