Tanzania’s Simba Queens edged She Corporate 1-0 in the finals to win CAF Champions League Qualifier – CECAFA Zone at Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday August 27.
Kenyan international Corazone Aquino opened the scoring from the spot in the 47th minute after Asha Djafari was brought down inside the box.
The two sides continued to press from one to the other to no fruition. She Corporate came close to leveling the scores through skipper Naume Nagadya who missed a great chance after 51 minutes.
Simba Queens FC walked away with US$30,000 (Shs113,778,400) cash prize. Meanwhile She Corporate bagged US$20,000 (Shs75,852,265) and the third placed Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) took home US$10,000 (Shs37,926,132)
