KCCA FC got nearly everything it wanted against UPDF FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Sunday except for the win.

The Kasasiro Boys were playing their first ever Uganda Premier League match under floodlights at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

KCCA kept the soldiers in check for most of the game, but a defensive lapse in extra time meant Morley Byekwaso’s team had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The hosts were in control during most of the match at the MTN Omondi Stadium and had a couple of chances to burry the game with Allan Okello, Kankonde all coming close.

Simon Kankonde broke the deadlock in the 58th minute. The lanky forward headed in Muhammad Shaban’s beautiful ball and lightened up the spirit in the stadium.

Kankonde made it two with an overhead kick but the goal was ruled out after the referee spotted a foul on UPDF’s goal keeper in the build up.
