Tooro Queens optimistic after team sealed it’s place in the Women Super league
2 min readAfter their first appearance in the FUFA Women Super league, fortportal based side Tooro Queens are optimistic they Will get better results next season.
The debutants had an impressive start after substitute Ruth Nyakato scored the lone goal that gave Tooro queens victory over Makerere University (SHE MAK). This in the long run was the only win the team secured in the whole tournament.
According to Head Coach Ayesiga Rogers, the team has learnt a lot of lessons from this season’s tournament at Njeru. “We go back to the drawing board in preparation for next season, we had the youngest players in the tournament who needed time to adjust to the high competition and this regard of league will suit them best. It is a marathon having seen the different level of competition from the teams, we are very positive come next season” he said.
He further added that the technical team is looking at possibly acquiring two new players who will boost and make the team stronger ahead of next season.
Midfielder Resty Kobusobozi put up a good display for the country queens managing to score a goal despite the fact that she picked a red card in the tournament. Jolly kobusinge who doubles as the team captain and left back showed extraordinary command of the team on the pitch, put up good defense and always passed the ball forward hence creating multiple chances for the team.
With these outstanding performances the team seems to be in good shape for next season and could possibly be title contenders.
