Traditional schools dominate the boy’s Rugby competitions as the USSSA games return after a two year break.
2 min readThe Fresh Dairy Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) Rugby Games return after a two year break due to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic which led to the temporarily suspension of sporting activities in 2020.
This year’s competitions will have thirteen boys and eight girls schools.
The competition will be played from the 18th – 25th April in Northern Uganda (Gulu).
Host region, Northern Uganda will be represented by three schools; Sir Samuel Baker, Lango College and Dr Obote while Ntare School and Mbarara High School are the only two schools from the Western region of the country.
Meanwhile, Traditional giants Namilyango College, Kings College Budo, Makerere College will be joined by Entebbe Parents, St Peter’s Naalya and Entebbe Airforce to represent the Central region.
Kiira College Butiki and Oxford High School are the only two schools from the Eastern region.
Elsewhere, St Catherine Secondary school will be the only school to represent Northern Uganda as Nile High School and St Mary’s Ediofe Secondary School both from Arua made it to the national level from West Nile.
Central region will be represented by Entebbe Parents Secondary School, Kitala Secondary School and Entebbe Airforce Secondary School as well as Oxford High School and Nkoma High School from Eastern Uganda.
Badminton (boys and girls), table tennis (boys and girls), girl’s football, hockey (boys and girls) and lawn tennis (boys and girls) are some of the other games that will be played in this year’s edition of the USSSA games in Gulu district. (Northern Uganda)
