UCU in the quest to defend the title with a win against debutants Victoria University. 

In the opener on Tuesday 5th April, Uganda Christian University (UCU) kicked off the University Football League title defense with a 2-0 victory against debutants Victoria University at UCU Grounds in mukono 

UCU are the defending champions of the league since 2019 when it was last held.

A goal in each half of the game courtesy of Enoch Sekandi and Isaac Ofoyrwoth led to victory of the Mukono based university.

It only took 10 minutes for Sekandi to put the ball at the back of the net placing UCU in an early lead of the game.

With eight minutes past an hour mark, Isaac Ofoywroth doubled the lead for UCU from a free kick 30 yards from goal.

The hosts continued to command great spell of possession as the crowds chanted in joy and excitement.

Yesterday’s victory takes UCU at the top of Group A which also has the International University of East Africa (IUEA) and Kumi University.
