Uganda Cranes Edge Tanzania To Qualify For 2022 CHAN
Uganda Cranes completed a double over Tanzania to qualify for the 2022 CHAN finals set to be played in Algeria after defeating neighbors Tanzania 4-0 on aggregate.
Uganda edged the taifa stars 1-0 in the first leg played in Tanzania courtesy of a late strike by SC Villa forward Travis Mutyaba.
The Uganda Cranes sealed the qualification after a decent evening at St Mary’s Kitende, thumping the visitors 3-0. Moses Waiswa, Richard Basangwa, and Roger Mato were all on target for the cranes.
Uganda has participated in five editions of CHAN finals (2011, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020), but have never gone past the group stages.
Algeria will host the 2022 CHAN that will kick off from January 8 until January 31, 2023.
