Saturday – The Referees Disciplinary Panel have suspended first assistant referee Muyaga Khalid for six months due to his failure to ‘justify extraordinary incorrect decision that exceeded the reasonable degree of human error which gravely affected the results of the match between Bul FC and SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.’
This follows a petition by SC Villa complaining about their disallowed goal in the match that was played on February 17 2023.
FUFA says that they received a report from the Referee’s Disciplinary panel that indicated that the assistant Referee Muyanga Khalid admitted that he had made an incorrect decision of denying Villa the goal.
FULL STATEMENT
“The Referees Disciplinary Panel found that the first Assistant Referee Muyaga Khalid failed to justify extraordinary incorrect decision that exceeded the reasonable degree of human error which gravely affected the results of the match #33 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup. He is hereby sanctioned with;
“1. A suspension from officiating football at all levels for six months for unjustified extraordinary incorrect decision that affected the result of the match. The suspension comes into force immediately.
2. After the expiry of six months, Mr. Muyaga Khalid shall not be allowed to officiate in the 1st Division League and Uganda Cup tournament the following season.
