Uganda Rugby Union announce media partnership with NBS Sport.
The Uganda Rugby Union this morning announced a partnership that gives NBS Sport rights to stream rugby game with immediate effect, profile players and coverage of all rugby related events.
This partnership does not block any media house but NBS Sport are the official broadcasters with live streaming rights and media houses using their footage will be required to credit them.
“The partnership is very important because it will help in reviewing games and assess referees to give feedback. We believe the video audience will help clubs to assess their performance against other teams.” – Olinga Ramsey
Joe Kigozi, the GM NBS Sport said “This partnership is strategic and relevant to Ugandans because there are many who need to know about rugby as a sport but can’t make it to the field. It will also raise the profiles of these players by televising these games”, he added.
This announcement comes before the third of the ongoing National Rugby 7s circuit heading to Arua this Saturday. According to the Union, the Arua circuit will be hosted by the Nile Leopards at the Green Light stadium, however, no confirmation about whether these games will be broadcast by NBS Sport was given.
Pirates host the next circuit after Arua on the 3rd and 4th of September before the circuit heads to Fort Portal, Jinja and finally at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds before the Nile Special Rugby season resumes.
The Rugby Cranes 7s National team players are expected to participate in the Arua circuit after their return from the Common Wealth Games in Birmingham and Chile World Rugby Challenger Series.
