Vipers SC have for the first time won a league match back-to-back this season.

StarTimes Uganda Premier League Results – Match Day 8

Vipers SC 1-0 Arua Hill SC
Maroons 1-3 Blacks Power FC
Bright Stars 2-0 Onduparaka FC

Vipers SC put on a thrilling display to beat Arua Hill SC 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende, led by a goal from a standout performer Milton Karisa. The win was Vipers first back-to-back win of the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

Robertinho’s men were clearly out to banish the visitors. The venom were the dominant side in the opening minutes with a couple of promising moves, before finally making the breakthrough after a brilliant through ball from Bright Anukani to Milton Karisa who chipped it over the Arua Hill SC custodian Richard Enyama.

Victory takes Vipers SC to fifth in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table, three points behind leaders Bul FC, while Arua Hill miss the chance to move above SC Villa and stay third.

This was also an opportunity for Arua Hill to show just what a force they could become this season and beyond after a dominant maiden season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League under manager Livingstone Mbabazi. Instead, they produced the sort of stodgy and negative performance that mirrored their demise in the defeat at URA FC.

However, this is largely attributed to the FUFA drum first leg semi-final. Three of the team’s key players (skipper Toha Rashid, Gadafi Wahab and Kawawa Rashid) were in action on Sunday as West Nile picked up a narrow 1-0 win over Acholi Province at Greenlight stadium, Arua.

Vipers SC Starting 11: Mudekereza; Mandela, Mubiru, Asiku, Mukundane; Ssentamu, Anukani, Watambala; Cromwell, Karisa, Yunus

Arua Hill SC Starting 11: Anyama; Okello, Toha, Muhammad, Matovu; Kacancu, Eyam, Mugalu; Kawawa, Gadafi, Kamwesiga

Onduparaka FC’s woes carry on with loss at Soltilo Bright Stars
Onduparaka FC were beaten for the fourth time in their last seven StarTimes Premier League matches on Tuesday afternoon, as the caterpillars suffered a 2-1 loss to Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation Centre.

The hosts opened the scoring in the first minute of the game through Innocent Kitimbo. Dominic leveled matters for the visitors from a poorly defended corner. Nelson Senkatuka restored Bright Stars’ lead after a nice build up play by the home side.
