Thursday – Steven Bogere was facing the Venoms for the first time since his appointment as the new head coach at Onduparaka FC, but was handed no favours by the kitende outfit as they left his side entrenched at the bottom of the league table.
The 4-0 score line was perhaps a little harsh on Onduparaka – but their form this season has been one to forget.
Meanwhile, the win over the caterpillars sees Vipers jump above Bul FC and KCCA to 1st.
Vipers opened the scoring in the 20th minute from the spot through Anukani Bright who brilliantly converted after Watambala’s shot was held by Adriko Gasper in the box.
Onduparaka were unable to contain the pressure as Vipers continued to assert their control over proceedings. Barely two minutes after the first goal, the hosts doubled their lead through Watambala’s well taken shot after a Milton Karisa pass.
Bogere’s side were able to hold out until half time to keep the score line at 2-0.
The pattern of the game remained the same in the second period, with Vipers looking comfortable and restricting Onduparaka’s threat to the occasional set piece.
Robertinho’s side then made sure of victory thanks to two second half goals from substitute Orit and Karisa. Orit converted from Karisa’s lay-off (78), while skipper Karisa wrapped up matters with a brilliant effort after a through ball from Cromwel Rwothomio (89).
