Vipers SC has been ranked 49th in the latest CAF Club rankings for 2024, marking a notable achievement for the Ugandan football powerhouse.
Released by CAF, the rankings reflect the performance and consistency of clubs across the continent, placing Vipers among Africa’s most competitive football clubs.
Dominating the top of the list are giants like Egypt’s Al Ahly SC, ES Tunis from Tunisia, and Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club.
Vipers’ ranking positions them alongside other elite African clubs, underlining their growing presence in continental football.

Notable clubs such as Raja Club Athletic (12th), Pyramids FC (15th), and Kaizer Chiefs (30th) sit outside the top 10, while Vipers SC holds a respectable place at 49th, reflecting Uganda’s growing influence in African football.
The inclusion of Vipers SC in the top 50 is a proud moment for the club and Ugandan football as they continue to raise their profile on the continental stage.
Vipers SC’s Journey in CAF Competitions
Vipers SC has been making steady strides in CAF competitions over the past few seasons. In 2022, they earned a historic place in the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time, which significantly boosted their ranking.
Despite facing tough opponents, Vipers managed to compete against top African clubs, showing resilience and skill. Their participation in the 2022–2023 CAF Champions League was particularly notable, as they secured crucial victories and earned valuable experience.
In 2021, Vipers SC also competed in the CAF Confederation Cup, further cementing their presence in continental football. While the team didn’t progress beyond the early stages, these experiences have laid a solid foundation for future campaigns.
