Tuesday – Vipers SC are taking an 18-man squad to Spain for the first Group C game in the CAF Champions League, against Raja Casablanca.
The Venoms will be making their maiden appearance at the CAF Champions League after knocking out continent’s giants TO Mazembe of DR Congo in the qualification round. However, Casablanca are much improved and have a fantastic home record this season.
It will be a huge task for the UPL defending champions if they are to win the game against an experienced host. The Kitende-based side will be without three key players, one being Cromwell who has not been selected, midfielder Marvin Young man and new signing Karim Ndugwa have also been left out.
Vipers will travel set off in the wee hours of Wednesday morning aboard Turkish Airlines. The club will make a stopover in Instanbul before proceeding to Morocco.
