Monday – Federation of Uganda Basketball Federation (FUBA) on Monday unveiled a provisional list of 28 players for the Afro-basket/African Games Zone Five qualifiers slated for February 12-19 in Kampala, Uganda.
The Gazelles squad is made up of only home-based players who commenced training on Monday.
The Gazelles made their debut in 1997 and later made it to the 2015 edition in Cameroon. The team failed to make it to the last edition due to financial challenges.
FUBA President Nasser Sserunjoji said:
“This is a big event for our women’s basketball since we have not been at this stage for eight years now due to lack of funds to participate.”
