West Nile 2 – 0: Junior, Bida Goals Seal Emphatic Win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Nile produced a flawless performance, comfortably beating Acholi Select 2-0 in a fully packed Greenlight Stadium in the first leg of the friendly match between the two sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andama Junior’s 46th minute free kick gave West Nile an early lead after the restart and Bida Ezra\u2019s second 63rd minute header doubled the hosts advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second half was a masterclass in dominance as West Nile toyed with Acholi to see the game out comfortably and earn a vital advantage going into the second leg slated for Saturday 25th June at Pece War Memorial Stadium, Gulu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT HAPPENED?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Nile started superbly and deservedly took the lead immediately after the start of second half when Andama Junior’s free kick slipped off Wokorach Jeans’ hand into his own net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That sparked a period of near-total control from West Nile, with Okhuti Caeser\u2019s side dominating the ball while Acholi struggled to put together sustained passing moves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acholi Select defence was able to keep out the attacking trio of Muhammad Shaban, Fahad Bayo and Bida Ezra for much of the first half. The three had less impact, with Bida trying to push forward with every opportunity presented but with less fruition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Nile picked up the pace of the game, attacking relentlessly. Their dominance was rewarded with a second goal after a wonderful cross from the right was headed past Acholi Select custodian Jean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Nile Select Coach Caeser Okhuti made use of his options on the bench. The gaffer made a double substitution in the 69th minute bringing on Kizza Mustafa for Ezra Bida and Rashid Yakin for Gibson Adinho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, Boyi Fazil and Atibuni Kennedy came on for Mohamed Shaban and goal scorer Andama Junior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
