The proposed African Super League will be officially launched at the CAF’s 44th ordinary assembly in Tanzania on August 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAF stated the Competition is meant to “breathe new life into African club competition\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 54 African Countries governed by CAF voted unanimously to go ahead with the competition last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tournament will be played in a three tabled, eight group format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A minimum of 3 teams from each country will participate. Teams to participate will be determined by the CAF rankings in the previous five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ultimate winner will walk away with $11.5 million as prize money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final will be a one leg affair played on neutral grounds. The Competition will commence next year in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
