We’re Not Giving up Like That –<\/strong> Kyetume FC Drags FUFA to High Court<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday<\/strong> – Kyetume Football Club have dragged the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to court after the latter were relegated to the FUFA Regional League for failure to fulfill FUFA Club Licensing requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyetume FC, through its lawyers, Bagyenda and company advocates, filed a lawsuit in the Mukono High Court on Tuesday to challenge the Federation’s ruling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“FUFA disqualified Kyetume unfairly. It never gave it a right of fair hearing, Kyetume has not been able to defend itself. It (Kyetume FC) made an appeal, instead of calling Kyetume to come and defend itself, it was given a letter that the appeal had been dismissed without even being heard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So that’s why we are here, to have all these decisions of FUFA quashed, set aside, and we (should) be heard on merit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Right now, we are very optimistic that we are going to win this case. We are not willing to give up like that because the law is on our side….” said Bagyenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyetume were relegated to the FUFA Regional League ahead of the 2022\/23 season.<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Kyetume were promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after securing the third promotion slot as they defeated Kataka FC 3-2 at Mbale Municipal Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the club struggled to ensure fruitful preparations ahead of life in the top-tier. First, the club failed to registered a single player on the FUFA Connect System. According to the Uganda Premier League rules, a club must have a minimum of 18 players on the System before a license is issued.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
