UPL Updates – Wakiso Giants Shock URA at home as Gaddafi Secure First Win of the Season<\/strong>
Gaddafi FC secured their first win of the 2022\/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season after edging Busoga United 1-0. This was the army side’s second Jinja derby of the season after holding table leaders Bul FC to a 1-all draw on Tuesday 25 October at Kakindu Municipal Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visitors had a shaky start to the game, forcing head coach Wasswa Bbosa to make early changes before half-time; Ngonde Elvis came on for Odongo Johnson inside 25 minutes. Meanwhile Kalumba Brian and Yaya Mahad replaced by Byamukama and Munguchi Steven at half-hour mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Substitute Steven Munguchi broke the dealock after 60 minutes to give the army side the lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaddafi FC managed to hold on for their first win of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wakiso Giants 2 -1 URA FC<\/strong>
URA FC suffered a humbling loss to Wakiso Giants in the other game of the day as the tax collectors failed to defeat the ‘Purple Sharks,’ who they humiliated 5-0 in their last encounter prior to today’s game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tax collectors started brightly forcing the home-side to take an early back-drop deep into their defence. Wakiso Giants started creating a few chances after half an hour mark but with no major breakthrough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end of half-time, Norman Ogik replaced injured Ssebuufu and the forward sent the wakiso-based side to a perfect break after scoring with his first touch on the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Timbe’s troops returned more energized for the final 45 minutes with a more fast and aggressive approach. Their persistence finally paid off in the 58th minute after James Begisa leveled matters, his second in a successive game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts regained their lead six minutes past the half hour mark. Moses Aliro managed to get at the end of Ogik’s pass sending the home fans to a wild celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
