Monday<\/strong> – West Nile Province won their first ever FUFA Drum despite losing 2-1 to Lango Province at Akii Bua Stadium on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lango were determined to overturn a 2-0 first leg loss the Black Rhinos endured at Greenlight Stadium on 7 January. However, an early second half goal from skipper Toha Rashid washed away any hoped of the home side staging a famous comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Northern side took the lead in the 11th minute through forward Dickens Okwir. It all started with a technical pass from Maduuka to Dickens who teased it with a zero touch onto Allan Okello who set it up nicely for Dickens to slot past Omedwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Nile’s Muhammad Shaban almost leveled matters shortly but his short was blocked by Acire. The home side went ahead to extend their lead in the 38th minute through a beautiful goal by URA FC forward Joakim Ojera, sending the fans wild. Again, Innocent getting involved. The chicky winger got to the ball before right-back Atendele and passed onto Omedi who set up Ojera for the powerful finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lango Province managed to hold on to their lead for the first 45 minutes, leaving the tie at an aggregate of 2-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The White Rhinos returned energized and pulled one back immediately after the break. Once again, skipper Toha Rashid made light work of goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongkara who punched his powerful shot onto the back of the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
