President Museveni – “AFCON will promote our countries and tourism.” <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta\u00a0Museveni\u00a0Tibuhaburwa has acknowledged that the ‘East Africa Pamoja Bid’ will promote the host games and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President made the remarks while receiving the AFCON 2027 joint bid presented to him by a delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang and FUFA boss Moses Magogo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have received Uganda\u2019s AFCON 2027 joint bid with Kenya and Tanzania (EAC Pamoja bid).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sports is good for health, entertainment and now, moreso business. Therefore, for East Africa to come together to invite the African Cup of Nations here is very good. It will promote our countries and tourism will also increase.” the President tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one of his addresses last year, the President recently rubbished the economic benefits that come with sports related activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
