South Sudan National League champions Salaam FC Bor will represent South Sudan 2023\/2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salaam FC Bor will be making their maiden appearance at the 2023\/23 CAF Champions League after being crowned champions on Tuesday last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salaam FC staged a remarkable comeback, scoring 2 goals in the second half after a disappointing first half against El-Merreikh FC. The game saw some dramatic moments with two red cards being awarded to El-Merreikh FC, including one to their coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victor Lual, the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) General Secretary confirmed that the newly crowned champions will represent the East African country in the continental football competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We shall have Salaam FC Bor represent South Sudan for the first time in the 2023\/2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. We shall also El Merriekh FC Juba, the Cup winners represent the country in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salaam FC Bor triumphed after overcoming more than 10 teams from the three regions of Upper Nile region, Equatorial region and Bahr El Ghazel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The champions also walked away with US$20,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, El-Merriekh FC of Bentiu finished second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
