South African footballer Luke Fleurs has been fatally shot in a car hijacking incident, according to reports from the Johannesburg suburb of Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

he 24-year-old defender, who played for Kaizer Chiefs, one of the country’s most revered football clubs, was attacked while waiting at a petrol station on Wednesday night. Unknown gunmen approached Fleurs, ordering him out of his vehicle before shooting him once in the upper body. One of the suspects reportedly fled the scene with Fleurs’ car following the shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the incident, stating that the police are actively investigating the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news of Fleurs’ untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the football community. Kaizer Chiefs expressed profound sadness at the loss, describing it as “tragic.” The club assured that the police are handling the situation and promised to provide further updates as they become available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
