Cameroon aims to strengthen its position atop Group D in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers as they face Eswatini at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday. The Indomitable Lions currently lead the group with a slender one-point advantage over Libya and Cape Verde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameroon’s Road So Far<\/strong>
The journey began with a commanding 3-0 victory over Mauritius on November 17, followed by a 1-1 draw against Libya. After a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) exit at the hands of Nigeria, Cameroon returned to form with a win against Cape Verde but were later held to a goalless draw by Angola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their recent fixtures, Cameroon has secured five wins out of eight matches across all competitions, suffering only one defeat to the Central African Republic. Their performance has secured them a spot in the upcoming AFCON in Morocco, a chance to redeem their previous underwhelming display that led to the departure of former coach Rigobert Song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eswatini’s Struggles<\/strong>
Eswatini, on the other hand, has faced challenges in their qualifying campaign, losing all four of their matches. Their latest defeat came against Mauritius, where despite a goal from Junior Magagula, they couldn’t overcome a two-goal deficit. The team has struggled offensively, netting only three goals in their last ten AFCON and World Cup qualifying matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameroon’s squad sees the inclusion of debutants Dany Namaso and Nathan Ngoumou. Midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa has recovered from a calf issue and is available for selection.
