2 min readAfter a 3-0 win against Pyramids in the League on Tuesday, Al Ahly travel to Pretoria to face the Sundowns in the 4th Round of the CAF Champions League.
The Sundowns won it’s very first historical game on Egyptian soil by a goal to nil in the first leg courtesy of a late goal by midflieder Thapelo Morena.
Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane says pressure is unto them to win the game at all costs.
Al Ahly currently sits second in the group standings after a poor start in the group stages, a goalless draw against Sudanese based Al-Hilal Omdurman defines the position they currently occupy.
Pitso Mosimane returns to South Africa to play against a side he managed for 8 years. Much respect was given by Mamelodi Sundowns’ coach Rulani Mokwena after his statements saying Pitso Mosimane knows more about the club ever since his departure to coach in Egypt.
A win for Al Ahly may see them go level on points.
Results from the other group game; Al-Hilal Omdurman 1-0 Al-Merreikh.
The Sundowns top the group with 7 points and other 3 teams in the group are currently on 4 points but the Sudanese based sides Al-Hilal Omdurman and Al-Merreikh have played a game more.
