A New Chapter in African Football: Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania to Host CHAN 2025.
For the first time in history, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania will jointly host the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), a groundbreaking moment for African football.
The tournament will run from 1st to 28th February 2025, showcasing the continent’s finest domestic talent across multiple venues in the three nations.
The official draw will be held on 15th January 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
Team Grouping: Teams will be seeded based on their performances in the last three CHAN editions (2018, 2020, 2022).
Pot 1 Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania (co-hosts), Senegal (defending champions), and Morocco (two-time winners).
Pot 2 and Pot 3 Includes top performers like Zambia, Guinea, Madagascar, and others.This is the first time CHAN will be hosted by three countries, reflecting a united vision for African football.
It will also serve as vital preparation for Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania as co-hosts of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)Uganda’s head coach will reveal the CHAN squad on Wednesday, 8th January 2025, at the FUFA Complex in Mengo.
