Calvary FC Unveils Five New Signings to Ignite UPL Campaign.
Newly promoted StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions Calvary Football Club has set pulses racing with the announcement of five key signings, as shared on their official X account (@calvaryfcm).
The “Horizon Stars,” fresh from their 2024/25 Fufa Big League triumph, have moved swiftly to bolster their squad with a blend of defensive grit, midfield energy, and attacking flair, signaling their intent to make waves in Uganda’s top flight.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera and new CEO Joel Gadafi, these additions mark a bold step toward establishing Calvary as a competitive force.
The defensive line welcomes Wambuga Marvin Praise, a commanding center-back from Kira United, whose aerial dominance and physicality promise to fortify the backline on a two-year deal.

Joining him is Gwaidho Tusaba Najib, a seasoned defender with UPL experience, bringing leadership and tactical nous to high-stakes matches.

In goal, Emmanuel Derrick Were, formerly of Soltilo Bright Stars FC and Kyetume FC, steps up as the new number one, his agility and composure set to anchor the West Nile Pride’s defense.

In midfield, Mubarak Mitala arrives from Lugazi FC, his tireless work rate and visionary passing poised to drive Calvary’s transitions from defense to attack. Up front, Nyalimo Steven, a versatile forward from Soroti Thunders FC, adds a lethal edge with his beach soccer MVP credentials and Masaza Cup scoring prowess, capable of dazzling as a winger or second striker.

These signings complement earlier acquisitions like Nigerian forward Oyedda David Seyi and midfielder Agaba Oscar, which fueled Calvary’s promotion push.
With the UPL season looming, fans are buzzing on social media, one tweeting: “Horizon Stars rising! These signings scream ambition.” As Calvary prepares to shine, the UPL braces for an exciting new contender.
