The Denmark FA has confirmed that Christian Eriksen will be fixed an ICD (heart starter).
An implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is a small, computerized device that is implanted in the upper chest of patients who are at risk for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
The FA also reiterated that the National team doctor Morten Boesen has been in contact with the cardiac specialist at Rigs hospital and Christian Eriksen.
It has been reported that Eriksen accepts the decision and is willing to undergo the procedure.
“After Christian has been through different heart examinations it has been decided that he should have an lCD (heart starter). This device is necessary after a cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances.
“Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment,” the update by Danish FA read.
Christian Eriksen suddenly collapsed on the pitch during a June 12 European Championship match between the Denmark and Finland national teams at Parken stadium.
