The opening match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 will be broadcast live across a record 180 territories worldwide, underlining the tournament’s growing global appeal and commercial strength.

The highly anticipated opening fixture between hosts Morocco and Comoros will take place on Sunday, 21 December 2025, kicking off at 20:00 local time, 19:00 GMT, and 21:00 Cairo time.This unprecedented global reach includes new broadcast markets in Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and 18 European countries, reflecting the expanding international footprint of African football. The extensive broadcast coverage spans Europe, Asia, the Far East, South America, and North America, marking a major milestone for the competition.
The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 is expected to surpass the success of the record-breaking 2023 edition in Côte d’Ivoire, which achieved a global television reach of 1.5 billion viewers. With rising interest and expanded distribution, viewership figures are projected to climb even higher.
History will be made in Japan as DAZN broadcasts African sport in the country for the first time. In China, Zhibo 8 TV, K-Ball, and Douyin TV will collectively reach more than 500 million viewers.
