Ibrahim Orit scored the only goal as Vipers SC clung on for a hard-fought 1-0 victory over URA FC at Nakisunga Ssaza Grounds on Saturday.
The first opportunity at goal came in for the hosts in the first minute as Kabon made a blockbusting run on the left past Mandela, lays in a cross but Senkaaba arrived late to tap in.
Vipers responded four minutes later after Bright Anukani dropped a dangerous ball inside the URA box, but Karisa couldn’t arrive in time for the final touch.
The tax collectors got another clear opportunity as Kabon went past his marker, only for his effort to go inches wide in a one on one situation.
URA lost defender Patrick Mbowa in the 35th minute after a nasty collision with his goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian.
Vipers’ goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza made the first serious save of the match after Derrick Ndahiro sent in a powerful strike which was destined for the bottom corner.
Ibrahim Orit broke the deadlock with half an hour until 90 minutes. The forward connected to a deflection off URA’s Benjamin Nyakoojo.
The tax collectors tried making ammends through Kabon with another cut back from the Left to Kyeyune whose powerful shot was saved by Mudekereza.
