Striker Charles Bbaale is set to join Uganda Premier League (UPL) giants Vipers SC after parting ways with Rayon Sports.

The talented goal-scorer ended his one-and-a-half-year stint with the Rwandan club on Monday, January 20, and is now seeking a fresh challenge back home in Uganda.

Vipers SC, the league leaders, have emerged as the frontrunners for Bbaale’s signature, with negotiations reportedly in advanced stages. If the deal goes through, the former SC Villa forward is expected to sign a three-year contract and feature for the Venoms in the second round of the UPL, set to commence in the first week of February.

Vipers SC concluded the first half of the Startimes Uganda Premier League on top of the table with 34 points, positioning themselves as strong contenders in the title race.

Bbaale, who was instrumental in Rayon Sports’ 2023 FERWAFA Super Cup victory over APR FC, will bring valuable experience to Vipers SC. However, he will face tough competition for a starting spot, with strikers like Yunus Ssentamu already in the squad.

Bbaale’s football journey began with Gomba Lions in the Masaza Cup before he established himself as a prolific scorer at SC Villa, earning his reputation as one of the league’s top talents.
