Uganda Cranes book AFCON spot after Congo Brazzaville’s loss to South Sudan
The Cranes will be representing Uganda in 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in Morocco.
Uganda cranes will be among the 24 teams the will take part in the 2025 AFCON tournament that will take place in December.
Uganda will be playing their 8th AFCON tournament. The cranes have appeared in AFCON since 1962,1968,1974,1976,1978,2017 and 2019.
This qualification was due to a win from South Sudan 3-2 against Congo Brazzaville a game that was played in Juba on 14th Thursday. Congo was left with 4points leaving them in a third place, this left Uganda cranes with 10points and South Africa with 8points.
The remaining game between Uganda cranes and South Africa that will be played on 15th November 2024 at Namboole will decide who finishes top in Group K.
Teams that have already qualified are the hosts Morocco, the former champions Algeria , Senegal , Democratic Republic of Congo and Egypt.
Other countries are Uganda , South Africa, Burkina Faso, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea
