UPL – Vipers vs Bul FC: Preview
Saturday – Vipers will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as the venoms welcome Bul FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The kitende based side played a goalless draw away at Wankulukuku against Express FC in their last league match.
Vipers are currently second on the table on 24 points, while Bul share the same number of points, Robertinho’s troops have a better goal difference.
Vipers and Bul played a 1-1 draw in a similar fixture last season. Walter Ochora netted an own goal for the venoms, and Simon Peter Oketch scored for the Jinja side.
Najib Yiga (2) and Yunus Sentamu were on target as Vipers collected maximum points in the return leg which ended 3-1.
Bul FC revenged with a win over Vipers in the final of the Uganda Cup. Karim Ndugwa scored twice while Simon Peter Oketch scored the other for Alex Isabirye’s side. Captain Halid Lwaliwa scored the consolation for the Venoms.
“We have to be ready to play a top, top, top, top game because they will go for us,” he added.
They will high press, they will try to play much more football than we allowed them do the last time we met in the Uganda Cup final. So, it will be really interesting, definitely.” said Vipers head coach Robertinho.
Meanwhile, Bul FC head coach Alex Isabirye is optimistic his side will collect maximum points.
“It is not going to be easy but we expect to win as we are going to give all we can to get all the three points,
They are a strong team who we believe want to retain their title but we also want to be counted among the strong ones, thus we have to play teams like them and even get points off them.” he said.

Karim Watambala and Murushid Juuko are back and the pair could feature today.
Abdu Lumala is still undergoing rehabilitation. Goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza remains out with malaria.
Meanwhile for Bul, centre back Walter Ochora has returned to the side but will have to undergo late fitness test.
Ronald Otti, Ibrahim Mugulusi and Denis Mwemezi will be missing in action due to respective injuries.
