Uganda cranes Isaac Isinde and Mutakubwa Joel grace the butiki league match day 3
2 min readButiki league match day three happened on Saturday 25th June 2022 at Arya Samaj with a huge a crowd.
Before the start of games, an old boy Lukwita Micheal donated 100 dollars to help one scholar at campus complete tuition.
It was so exciting to see the legendary assistant captain of Uganda cranes, Isaac Isinde turn up for the match day to play for the league leaders as of now, Nyulya FC and on the other hand Joel Mutakubwa the Uganda cranes and Express FC goal keeper played for his cohort, Kasadhakawo FC currently the 3rd on the table.
Webster (the Brazilian) of Nyulya still put up an outstanding performance scoring 3 goals in the two games played. He is still the top scorer of the league with 13 goals on his name.
The league chairperson, Mr Wanyela Samuel told us, “the league was started in 2019 mainly to preserve our solidarity, tradition and culture. The main aim is to keep our brotherhood and to social network. There’s a great improvement from the first match day to this one, I can say we are heading to where we want the league to be with the help of my dedicated committee members.”
“I want to applaud the organizing committee of the league for coming up with such an idea of us meeting as old boys. I was in butiki from from 1999-2002 and it’s where my football story began and i am so happy that my team Nyulya FC we are on top of the table and we hope to be the champions.” Former assistant Uganda cranes captain Isaac Isinde
The Express FC and Uganda cranes short stopper, Mutakubwa Joel said, “I love playing football and when I had there is a butiki league and my class mates reached out to me definitely I had to show up. I am so happy to meet with my old boys in a while and I will always come through if at all I am not engaged with club activities.
The butiki league match day 4 will be played next month of July with the dates to be confirmed soon.
