Malingumu Events Amsterdam, a promotions company based in the Netherlands, has once again extended its generosity to Arua City Boxing Club by donating a fresh batch of boxing equipment. This marks the third time Malingumu Events has supported the boxing club. The donation event took place on Friday morning at Pacific Hotel in Arua City, officiated by Arua City Deputy Speaker, Tabu Fred, and Arua City Sports Officer, Candia Ronald.

In addition to the boxing equipment, female boxer Ayiko Arafat was given a special contribution of UGX 100,000 in support of his family following the loss of a relative. The donation was made by Malingumu Events’ Managing Director, Daku Farouk, through his paternal aunt, Mama Night Zabibu, and Toko Badru TOK, the company’s Uganda representative.
The trophies were awarded to the most outstanding boxer, Razak Ali, and Ayiko Arafat for their exceptional performance in recent competitions.
During the ceremony, Arua City Deputy Speaker Tabu Fred praised Arua City Boxing Club for its efforts and growth, attributing much of the club’s progress to the leadership of Hon. Oshino Rashid, President of Arua City Boxing Club. He expressed confidence that Arua City is on the path to producing a world-class boxing champion in the near future.
“I’m confident that one day the best boxer is going to come from Arua City,” said Tabu. “We’ve seen boxing change lives, and with continued support from the city council and donors like Malingumu Events, I believe in a bright future for our boxers.”
Arua City Sports Officer Candia Ronald expressed gratitude to Malingumu Events for its continued support of the club. He also reassured the club of the city’s commitment to sports, revealing that UGX 70 million has been allocated to the sports office for the upcoming 2024/25 fiscal year. However, he acknowledged that while the funds will be helpful, questions remain about whether they will be sufficient to support all sporting activities in the city, including Arua City Council FC, which is fully funded by the city council.
“We are here to promote sports and are ready to support the boxing club,” Candia stated.
