Nigeria Exit on a High: 2-0 Victory Over Congo in 8th African Nations Championship
The Super Eagles B bowed out of the 8th African Nations Championship on a positive note, defeating Congo 2-0 in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.
After a goalless first half, Anas Yusuf broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, heading home from Sikiru Alimi’s pass. Alimi later sealed victory with a stoppage-time strike.
Despite the win, Nigeria’s earlier losses to Senegal and Sudan meant elimination, while Congo also crashed out after finishing with just two points. Holders Senegal and Sudan advanced from Group D.
