Resty Kobusobozi Wins Finance Trust Bank Best Player Award for December.

Lady Doves FC’s standout forward, Resty Kobusobozi, capped off an incredible run by winning the Finance Trust Bank Women’s Best Player of the Month award for December.

Her stellar performances saw her score seven goals, claim three Player of the Match awards, and lead her team to success during a crucial period in the 2024/25 FUFA Women Super League season.

Kobusobozi edged out stiff competition from Shamusa Najjuma and Shamirah Nalugya of Kampala Queens to secure the prestigious honor.

Kobusobozi: “This Award Means the World to Me”

Speaking at the awards ceremony held on Wednesday at Twed Plaza, the main branch of Finance Trust Bank, Kobusobozi expressed deep gratitude for the recognition:

“I want to extend my sincerest appreciation to Finance Trust Bank and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for their unwavering support. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, and I can only say thank you for the prayers and well wishes.

Winning this award strengthens my faith in Jesus Christ, my self-belief, and the trust I have in my team. It means the world to me, and I’m confident it will push me to greater heights—I want to be the top scorer this season.”

Finance Trust Bank’s Head of Strategy, Wasswa Francis, reiterated the institution’s commitment to empowering women through sports:

Asefa Firew Hailegebrealar Named Coach of the Month

Meanwhile, Kampala Queens’ Ethiopian tactician, Asefa Firew Hailegebrealar, was awarded Coach of the Month after an impressive run of three wins and one draw in four games. He edged out Faridah Bulega (Amus WFC), who won in November, and Alinaitwe Fred (Lady Doves FC).

Second Round of the League Resumes

As the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League enters its second round, six fixtures are set for this weekend across various venues, promising more thrilling action in Uganda’s top-tier women’s football competition.
