Uganda Cubs Suffer 5-0 defeat to Morocco.

The Uganda Cubs suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat to Morocco in their AFCON U-17 championship opener that was held at El Bachir stadium in Mohammedia.
Morocco’s attacking duo of Ilies Belmokhtar and Ziyad Baha Abedlahaj stole the show with two goals each, while Driss Ait Chiekh sealed the 5-0 victory on Eid day.
In the first ten minutes, the hosts took the lead through Belmokhtar’s header past goalkeeper Ashraf Lukyamuzi while Chiekh established a second goal in the 8th minute.
Abedlahaji slotted home a penalty, given following a VAR check, to make it 3-0 after just 23 minutes.

Before half time, Belmokhtar made a brilliant finish inside the goal area giving him a brace in his name ending the first stanza of the game with 4-0.
The Uganda Cubs’ hopes of scoring were dashed by Chouaib Bellaarouch, who made crucial saves to deny Simon Wanyama and Elvis Torach.
The Uganda Cubs entered this match having lost their previous two international friendlies in Morocco, falling to Burkina Faso and Cameroon by scores of 2-3 and 3-4, respectively.
Morocco lead the group A with three points and five goal difference, other two countries in this group are Tanzania and Zambia .

The Uganda cubs will be back in action on Thursday to play against Tanzania.
